Spatial Development Plan - Draft

BACKGROUND TO THE PROJECT

The Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000) (hereinafter referred to as the "MSA"), mandates that every Municipality must create an Integrated Development Plan (referred to as "IDP") and a Spatial Development Plan (referred to as "SDP") as a fundamental element of the IDP to achieve the Municipality's spatial vision. Section 26e of the MSA stipulates that the Municipality must formulate "a Spatial Development Plan that includes essential guidelines for a municipal land use management system."
